I have never done it before, what should I do?

You will need an introduction lesson to start off with so you can talk to the instructor, get use to the car controls, and find out how best to continue. Most people like to ask lots of questions face to face, but it is also a good idea to bring your glasses if you need them and your driving licence. TIP! Bring a bottle of water along if you need one.

How long have you been a driving Instructor?

10 years.

Does your vehicle have dual controls?

Yes.

Am I going to learn with a Sat Nav?

Yes.

Will I have the same instructor for each lesson?

Yes.

Can I learn from home and also get help from you to help me keep my standards up to date?

Yes.

Are you a fully qualified instructor (ADI) or a trainee instructor (PDI)?

121drive.co.uk only employs fully qualified instructors (ADIs), unlike some of the very big named driving schools you see on TV who use students to develop their trainee instructors. You will be learning with an expert from day one.

What worries or concerns do new students often have before their first lesson, and how do you help put their minds at ease?

It's completely natural to feel a bit nervous before your first driving lesson.

Many students worry about making mistakes, feeling overwhelmed, or even just meeting a new instructor. At 121drive.co.uk, we understand these concerns. Our fully qualified (ADI) instructors are patient, friendly, and experienced in creating a relaxed learning environment. We start with the basics, moving at your pace, and ensure you feel comfortable and confident every step of the way. We encourage open communication so you can always share your concerns with your instructor. Your safety and comfort are our top priorities.

What are your hourly rates?

Lessons start at £35 per hour. You can book a one-hour session each time; you don’t need to block book and hand over hundreds of pounds just to start. Pay as you go!

Do you offer block booking discounts?

Yes, if the block booking is over 10 hours. Talk to us first to discuss your needs and the time frame you have to work in.

How long are the lessons?

1 and 2-hour sessions are available.

Will I always use the same car?

Yes, your instructor will use their own car each time on your lesson. If a car is being updated to a newer car, the instructor will let you know as soon as possible with plenty of time to adapt.

Is it a manual or automatic?

Manual. However, Automatic is coming in March 2026!

Do you have experience with nervous drivers or specific needs?

Yes, in fact, everyone is nervous starting something new; it's only natural, so the more your instructor knows, the better you can receive help.

Are you familiar with the local test routes?

Yes, with over ten years of experience in Milton Keynes, Bletchley, and Buckingham, test routes will become second nature by the time you are ready to take your test.

Can you provide a mock test?

Yes.

Do you help with studying for the theory test?

Yes! It's necessary to use your theory in each lesson when driving on the road so you can understand how and what to do to remain safe. If you have questions, ask; maybe the lesson can focus on the theory you need help with.

Are there any specific things potential students need to do or have (like a provisional licence) before they can start lessons with you, or before taking their driving test?

Yes, to begin driving lessons with Driving School, you must hold a valid provisional driving licence for Great Britain. You'll also need to be able to read a number plate from 20 metres away (with glasses or contact lenses if you need them). Before taking your practical driving test, you must have passed your theory test. We recommend starting your theory study early, and as mentioned, your instructor will help reinforce theory concepts during your lessons. If you have any questions about obtaining your provisional licence or preparing for your theory test you can find out more at Gov.co.uk
